What do the practitioners do?

A licensed insolvency practitioner is the person authorised in law to take formal appointments over an insolvent or solvent company, and our practitioners act as liquidator, administrator or supervisor under the Insolvency Act 1986 depending on the procedure. The appointment carries statutory duties to creditors, members and the court.

Across the practice that covers the full range of company situations: a creditors' voluntary liquidation or compulsory liquidation to close an insolvent company, a members' voluntary liquidation to close a solvent one, and rescue procedures such as administration and a company voluntary arrangement where a business can be saved.

Because NTF is a boutique practice, the practitioner who takes your first call is the practitioner who handles the case. You can read more about the firm and how it works on the about NTF Corporate Solutions page.

How is the practice regulated?

Our practitioners are licensed and regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), which means they meet the profession's standards for competence, conduct and independence and are answerable to a recognised regulator. Their conduct on every case is governed by the Insolvency Code of Ethics and the Statements of Insolvency Practice.

The firm's licensing statement, professional indemnity insurance, data-protection registration and the full complaints procedure are set out on our regulatory information page.
